1 in 6 face hunger in Northern Ireland
Help us tackle hunger this Christmas

We need your help to provide over 30,000 meals for those in need this Christmas.

Research shows one in six people in Northern Ireland are facing hunger. Your support can help ease that burden, whether it’s a tin of soup or financial donation, every contribution makes a huge difference. Even giving a little can make a huge difference to those who are facing a choice between heating and eating this Christmas.

This festive season, Translink, in partnership with FareShare NI, U105 and Belfast Live are asking for your help to collect food items for families, school children, the homeless and those most in need. With your support, we can help us raise critical donations to support vulnerable people during what can be the hardest time of year for many.

Together, we can give people the gift of choice, with even the smallest donations making a huge difference.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

What is Stuff A Bus NI?

Now in its ninth year, Stuff a Bus NI is an award-winning initiative aiming to tackle hunger and bring vital support to those most vulnerable during the festive period.

Partnering with Homeless Connect’s FareShare NI programme – and supported by media partners U105 and Belfast Live – this year’s campaign is calling on both businesses and the public to help achieve a target of 30,000 meals donated.

Donations will be distributed through FareShare’s network of foodbanks, community groups, schools, and hostels across Northern Ireland – ensuring local support reaches the people who need it most.

Collection points will be set up at key bus and rail stations, including Belfast Grand Central Station, Coleraine, Derry~Londonderry Northwest Transport Hub, and Newry (bus or rail). Corporate organisations and businesses of any size can also register as Stuff A Bus Partners, with internal donation stations provided to workplaces and offices to make contributing even easier.

The Stuff a Bus appeal comes at a time when the cost-of-living crisis is at peak levels. With more families now facing severe financial difficulties, many of whom have never needed support before and are now finding themselves in need.

This year, we’re encouraging everyone to make Stuff a Bus part of their Christmas journeys. By using public transport, you can drop off donations on your way, making giving back simple and sustainable. Your donation can make a huge difference and we have made it easy – you can donate at any of the food stations, or you can contribute here.

The Stuff a Bus campaign has helped thousands of people across Northern Ireland and this year we want to have our biggest campaign ever; with your help we can bring the magic into people’s lives.
